Manchester United considered making a move for Brighton and Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray last month, according to a report on the Daily Mail.
Dean Smith’s side were said to have made enquiries about the striker during last month’s transfer window.
However, no move materialised for the veteran forward, who has now signed a new deal with the Seagulls lasting until the end of next season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side ended up signing former Watford striker Odion Ighalo whilst Villa secured the signature of Mbwana Samatta, who has already opened his scoring account for the club.
36-year-old Murray is an established goalscorer in the top-flight, netting 37 times in 141 appearances in the competition.
So it’s no surprise to us that he made the shortlist for Villa and United, two teams who are desperate for more goals until the end of the season.
However, we believe that signing Samatta turned out to be the better option, based on his two displays for the club so far and the fact that he is also nine years younger than Murray, meaning he has plenty of years ahead of him.
The Tanzanian international impressed some fans with his performances against Leicester City and Bournemouth and we hope he can keep up the good form.
