These Aston Villa fans look back on memorable Robbie Keane strike

Ireland legend Robbie Keane enjoyed a brilliant career, featuring for the likes of Inter Milan, Tottenham and Liverpool among others.

He will also be remembered by Aston Villa fans for a very successful loan spell that came towards the end of the 2011/12 season.

In six games, the classy forward scored three goals and helped Villa to some good results but there’s game in particular that Villa fans will never forget – a 3-2 win at local rivals Wolves.

Alex McLeish’s men were trailing 2-1 at Molineux at half-time and were outplayed, however, they improved after the break, with Keane the inspiration.

He equalised early into the second half with a clever finish and then secured the points against his former club with a thunderous shot from outside the box – that was named as Villa’s Goal of the Day on Twitter on Thursday.

As you would expect, this brought back happy memories for the fans and here we look at some of the comments to the strike…

matchday.
