Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to a tweet comparing Ollie Watkins to former strikers Dion Dublin and Dean Saunders.
Since arriving at Villa Park this summer from Championship side Brentford, Watkins has been in excellent form, bagging an impressive six goals in his opening seven Premier League games.
Such form has seen the £27m-valued striker enhance his reputation, something he further strengthened against Arsenal last weekend as he bagged an impressive brace.
Watkins’ goalscoring form has seen him come close to matching former Villa strikers Dublin and Saunders, who scored seven and nine respectively in their opening seven games in a Claret and Blue shirt.

In total, Dublin would go on to score 56 goals for the Villans in 156 appearances, whilst Saunders netted 42 goals in 123 appearances.
Reacting to Villa’s tweet, some fans were hugely impressed with Watkins’ scoring feat, with one believing that his fee is already proving to be a “bargain”:
