John Terry was taking a break from Aston Villa duties and watched Manchester City’s Champions League semi-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain from the comfort of his own home.

The 40-year-old enjoyed himself as City beat PSG 2-0 on the night, sealing their place in the final, but that wasn’t all that happened. Terry posted on his Instagram stories that he bagged himself a signed Ruben Dias shirt after his Man of the Match performance on Tuesday.

Terry would have enjoyed seeing Dias’ outstanding performance against PSG, stopping the Ligue 1 outfit registering a shot on target over the 90 minutes, but John Stones shone alongside the 23-year-old too.

Villa’s defence has looked more robust in their second season back in the Premier League and Terry is one of many coaches to thank. Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa have formed a formidable partnership while Matt Targett and Matt Cash have shone on the flanks, but Dias has been flawless.

Terry was a world-class centre-back himself and would have enjoyed playing alongside the City defender. He might have thrived in this current Villa side too, as they boast the fifth-best defensive record in the Premier League this season.
