On this day (May 7) in 2014, Jack Grealish made his first-team debut for Aston Villa and celebrated the moment on his Instagram stories. The 25-year-old has made over 200 appearances since rising through the youth ranks and went back to where it all began.

Grealish came off the bench late in Villa’s 4-0 defeat to Manchester City and played for a handful of minutes before the full time whistle blew. It was the only appearance he made in the first team that season, but the England international would go on to feature 24 times the following campaign.
Grealish has virtually been a regular in the senior side ever since and has scored a total of 32 goals with 43 assists in 209 games. He’s been one of the best performers in the Premier League this season too, contributing 18 goals in 22 league games, so his stock couldn’t be higher right now.
What may be on his mind are international prospects. Grealish would have been a shoo-in to start for England prior to his shin injury, but he now has Phil Foden and Mason Mount for competition, having also been sidelined for months.
