Morgan Sanson missed Aston Villa’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester United due to injury, but he posted a video on his Instagram stories of him working hard on the exercise bikes at Bodymoor Heath to get fit.

The 26-year-old has been out of action since early April with a knee injury, missing Villa’s last five Premier League games, but he appears to be making good progress if his latest post is anything to go by.

Supporters haven’t seen a lot of Sanson since his January move from Olympique Marseille. He’s made nine appearances from a possible 17, amassing less than 300 minutes of playing time from 1530, so he’s using social media to keep fans in the loop.

Dean Smith has said the Frenchman will return to training this week and the midfielder is predicted to return ahead of Villa’s Premier League meeting with Everton on Thursday, but it remains to be seen if he’ll make the matchday squad.

It’s good news that Sanson is stepping up his fitness and is in great spirits as he recovers. He should feature in one of Villa’s remaining games before the campaign comes to a close.
