Jack Grealish trends as Man City open talks over deal this summer

Jack Grealish trending on Twitter is never good news for Aston Villa fans and this latest incident has many fearing the worst. The 25-year-old has long been a target for Manchester City and Fabrizio Romano of the Guardian has now confirmed that talks between the two clubs over a potential deal has begun.

Despite City having Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Ferran Torres, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva at their disposal, Pep Guardiola wants a playmaker who can operate out wide and through the middle. Grealish had a hand in 18 goals from 26 Premier League games last season, so he’d be a real asset.

Harry Kane is also on City’s radar, so it remains to be seen whether they can sign both players in one transfer window. The Premier League champions may end up paying £250 for the duo. Villa are still trying to keep Grealish at Villa Park, however, and have offered him a new deal, so they’re not giving up.

City are testing Villa’s resolve, but it may come down to the player’s wishes. The Guardian add that Grealish is open to a move to the Etihad after their three title triumph in four years, so they may be too good to turn down.
