Nicolas Jackson was delighted after Aston Villa secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday. The striker was named Man of the Match after helping Unai Emery’s side secure another important three points away from home.
Aston Villa took the lead through Johan Manzambi in the first half but had to work hard to protect their thin lead. Newcastle United made life difficult for the visitors, but Villa showed their defensive strength to secure a fourth successive away win in all competitions.
Jackson praises Aston Villa’s important win
Nicolas Jackson was pleased with the result and recognised how difficult it can be to come away with a victory at Newcastle.
“Very good, amazing,” he told VillaTV.
“We’re very happy to win here. We know it’s a very difficult place to come and win.
“The most important, we won, and then we just try to keep going forward with more wins.
“It’s a very difficult stadium to win (at) and we know we had to defend.
“We did so, and we were very happy to do it, and finally we got the three points. That was the most important for us today.”

“We have an amazing coach leading us so we are very happy together and hopefully we go forward and win more games.”
Aston Villa are 12th in the table after the win and play Viking next in the Champions League.
