Aston Villa enjoyed a 1-0 win over Manchester United on Saturday and Kortney Hause scored the goal that earned his side all three points – the 26-year-old headed home at the near post from a Douglas Luiz corner.

Hause not only helped to keep a clean sheet against United, he limited them to only four shots on target – none of which were from Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo or Edinson Cavani. The 26-year-old shared a picture on Instagram from the game that showed him challenging Ronaldo for the ball.

Against United, Hause played for 90 minutes, had 38 touches, won two aerial duels, completed 76.7% of his 30 passes, had one shot which he scored from, committed three fouls, made two interceptions, blocked two shots, made one clearance and had one successful dribble.

The 26-year-old has made four appearances in all competitions this season. He’s featured only twice in the Premier League, starting just once, but may be in line to keep his starting place at centre-back after recently impressing – Dean Smith has Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa and Axel Tuanzebe to pick as a partner.
