Louie Barry was too good for Aston Villa’s reserves last season, so he was loaned out to Ipswich Town over the summer to continue his development at senior level. The 18-year-old has struggled for appearances with the Tractor Boys, however, and fans on social media want him recalled and sent to a club more willing to hand Barry opportunities.

Barry has made only five appearances at Ipswich this season, amassing a paltry 215 minutes of football without a goal or assist. Paul Cook has Sone Aluko, Macauley Bonne, Conor Chaplin, Kayden Jackson, Joe Pigott and James Norwood who can all play up front, so the Villa loanee has too much competition.

Ashley Preece of Birmingham Live believes Villa will send Barry out to a League Two club planning to use the striker on a weekly basis, so the move will be very popular among supporters. Barry will surely be delighted as well, having spent the season as an unused substitute while being left out of the matchday squad at times, so it benefits all parties.

Barry can’t afford to waste the season away, so Villa will hope a fresh change of scenery will see him turn things around.
