Cameron Archer is enjoying a breakthrough season at Aston Villa, impressing in the first-team after fine form at youth level, and he’s been particularly outstanding in the EFL Trophy for the U21s.
The 19-year-old scored in Villa’s 3-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers (August 31) while bagging a hattrick in their 4-2 win over Burton Albion (October 5), but he wasn’t done there. Archer scored two goals in Villa’s 4-2 win over MK Dons on Tuesday and posted a picture on his Instagram to mark the occasion.

Villa finished top of Group B3 with a maximum nine points and Archer led the scoring charts with six goals, so it’s been a perfect campaign so far. It’s easy to see why he’s delighted with how things are going and there’s plenty of the season remaining.
Archer has two goals in 17 games for the U18s, 16 goals in 33 games for the U23s and four goals in five games for the first-team – his four goals at senior level came in the EFL Cup. The Englishman has been prolific ever since Dean Smith promoted him, so his future is bright.
