Aston Villa have confirmed that Zepiqueno Redmond has joined French side Annecy on a season-long loan.
The young striker will spend the 2026/27 campaign in Ligue 2 as Villa continue to use the French club as a development route for academy players.
Villa confirmed the loan move after Redmond returned from an injury-hit spell at Huddersfield Town last season.
The 20-year-old joined Villa from Feyenoord last summer. He arrived with Champions League experience after featuring for the Dutch club against AC Milan and Inter Milan.
Redmond has also represented the Netherlands at youth level. Villa will now hope regular football in France helps him regain momentum.
Redmond Gets Fresh Loan Chance
The move gives Redmond a cleaner platform after a difficult year in England.
His Huddersfield loan ended early after injury disrupted his time in Yorkshire. Annecy now offers him a full season to build rhythm, minutes and confidence.
ReadAstonVilla previously covered how Villa were expected to send academy players to Annecy as part of the club’s wider development plan.
Redmond fits that route. He needs senior football, but Villa also need control over his next steps.
A full season in France should give the club a better read on his long-term level. It also keeps him inside a pathway Villa already know well.
