Aston Villa are reportedly considering a late-window move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as Unai Emery assesses his attacking options.
Chelsea are believed to value Jackson at around €70m, with Manchester United and Napoli also credited with enquiries. However, Villa have not submitted an offer or opened advanced negotiations at this stage.
Any move is likely to depend on how the market develops and whether Chelsea soften their financial demands.
Jackson could offer Villa a different attacking option
Jackson is familiar to Emery after playing under the Villa manager at Villarreal.
The Senegal international can operate centrally or move into wider areas. His speed, pressing and ability to attack space would give Villa a different option alongside Ollie Watkins and Tammy Abraham.
ReadAstonVilla previously identified Jackson as a potential long-term option for Villa’s attack. His age and Premier League experience remain attractive, although the cost would be difficult to justify without a major departure.
Watkins’ future could influence Villa’s position. His representatives have played down recent transfer reports while the striker remains focused on England’s World Cup campaign.
Villa have already committed significant funds elsewhere this summer. That makes a deal worth close to Chelsea’s reported valuation unlikely unless it can be structured creatively or financed through sales.
A late move may become more realistic if Jackson remains outside Chelsea’s preferred attacking group and the London club lowers its demands.
For now, Villa’s position appears exploratory. Jackson is an option being kept under consideration rather than a deal close to completion.
