Aston Villa want to sell Leon Bailey this summer despite Hull City attempting to negotiate a loan deal for the Jamaica international.
The winger has reportedly been offered to clubs across Europe as Villa seek between £12million and £20million.
Hull are keeping space available in their squad for Bailey following their promotion to the Premier League. However, the Tigers currently favour another temporary move rather than meeting Villa’s asking price.
Alan Nixon reports that Hull remain interested in the 28-year-old, but Villa are prioritising a permanent departure. Bailey is also thought to prefer remaining in England, although interest from Europe could complicate Hull’s pursuit.
The winger joined Villa from Bayer Leverkusen for around £25million in 2021. He has made 163 appearances across all competitions but spent the first half of last season on loan at Roma.

Bailey has slipped down Unai Emery’s attacking hierarchy following an inconsistent period at Villa Park. His latest pre-season appearance also ended early during the 2-1 defeat against Porto.
The winger struggled before leaving the pitch after 23 minutes, earning a 4/10 rating in ReadAstonVilla’s assessment of the Porto defeat.
Villa’s preference for a permanent sale is understandable after Bailey’s previous loan failed to create a lasting solution. A fee would also give Emery greater room to reshape an attack already altered by Morgan Rogers’ departure.
Hull can offer Bailey regular Premier League football, but their proposed structure leaves Villa with another decision to make next summer. Newly promoted clubs must also manage their spending carefully when strengthening several areas of the squad.
The latest report suggests no agreement is currently close. Villa must either convince Hull to include stronger permanent conditions or find a club willing to meet their valuation.
