Aston Villa have announced a new partnership with Winvia Entertainment which will create regular prize draws for supporters. The new competition, called Villa Win, will offer fans the chance to win prizes and exclusive experiences connected to the club.
Winvia will develop and operate the competition using its technology platform and prize-draw infrastructure.
The company already operates in the UK prize-draw market through brands including BOTB and Click Competitions. It also provides its technology to external partners.
Further details about how supporters can enter Villa Win will be announced later.
Villa Win partnership could generate new Aston Villa revenue
Villa president of business operations Francesco Calvo believes the partnership can create another way for supporters to engage with the club.
He also confirmed that any revenue generated could be reinvested across several areas, including Villa’s community programmes.
“Winvia’s platform and expertise will allow us to create more fan engagement opportunities through our new Villa-themed prize draws,” Calvo said.
Meanwhile, Winvia sees the partnership as an opportunity to take its technology into football.
Gil Barel, the company’s head of strategic partnerships and M&A, described Villa Win as an example of how Winvia can work with established organisations and large supporter audiences.
The agreement continues Villa’s push to expand their commercial operation.
ReadAstonVilla recently examined the club’s renewed commercial partnership with Betano, with Francesco Calvo also playing a central role in that agreement.
However, Villa Win has a different focus because supporter participation sits at the centre of the project.
Villa are yet to reveal the prizes, entry structure or launch date.
Therefore, supporters will have to wait for further information before the first competition opens.
