Former Villa youngster Jordan Graham in hospital

Former Aston Villa academy winger Jordan Graham is receiving specialist treatment in hospital following a serious road traffic accident.

The 31-year-old was involved in the incident earlier this month.

A statement issued by the Professional Footballers’ Association on behalf of Graham’s family confirmed he is currently receiving specialist care.

The BBC reports that Graham’s family are grateful for the treatment he is receiving and have asked for privacy while they focus on his recovery.

No further details about his condition have been released.

Graham began career at Aston Villa

Graham spent his formative years in Aston Villa’s academy before leaving the club in 2015.

He went on to represent Wolves and also had loan spells with Ipswich Town, Bradford City, Oxford United and Fulham.

Later permanent spells included Gillingham, Birmingham City and Leyton Orient.

The winger has made 188 senior career appearances.

Football sends support to Graham

Several of Graham’s former clubs have sent messages of support.

Gillingham said everyone at the club was thinking of Graham and his family, while Leyton Orient also offered their best wishes.

The Independent reports that further information will only be provided when appropriate.

For now, Graham’s family have specifically asked that they are not contacted directly while they remain focused on his treatment and recovery.
