Gueye in France to see hamstring specialist

Idrissa Gueye has been sent to see a specialist in France today in an attempt to cure the midfielder of his hamstring problems, according to Sky Sports.

The midfielder signed for Villa in the summer from Lille and has hit the ground running in the Premier League this season, impressing with his combative and dynamic play in the center of the park.

Gueye missed the last 2 games due to the injury, he was expected to make a return on Saturday against West Brom, but the Senegalese International pulled his hamstring again the day before in training.

Tim Sherwood shared his dismay with the media, saying “It is disappointing because, out of all the players we have brought in, he is the most outstanding one who has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water.”

The 25-year-old is expected to miss the 2nd City Derby on Tuesday night with the injury and isn’t expected to be fit for the game against Liverpool on Saturday in the Premier League.
