Roy Hodgson Looks To Secure Grealish Services

Roy Hodgson is set to step up his interest to persuade Grealish to represent England. Although, the England manager is running out of time to tie the attacking midfielder down, and faces a challenge from the Republic of Ireland, as Grealish qualifies to represent them at international level, because of his Irish grandparents.

The England boss has made enquiries about including the Villa star for the Euro 2016 qualifiers, against Estonia and Lithuania, but needs to step up his interest as Hodgson only has until next Thursday, before he names his squad.

Roy Hodgson may have a tough challenge on his hands, as Jack Grealish has already represented the Republic of Ireland at the under-21’s level. If he does decide to play for England then the FA will need to wait for the FIFA clearance, which may not allow him to play in time, for the last two European qualifiers.

Although Roy Hodgson had his eye on England forward Harry Kane, when he watched the Tottenham vs Man City game yesterday, he made sure he was keeping an even closer eye on Jack Grealish, as his assistant manager for England, Ray Lewington, was at the game where Aston Villa faced Liverpool.
