Jordan Amavi out for the season

Jordan Amavi is set to be out for the rest of the season after an injury playing for the French U21s, avfc.co.uk reports.

The young defender ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, a major injury for the 21-year-old, suffering the injury versus Northen Ireland U21s.

Amavi has been one of Villa’s outstanding performers at left back this season after a summer of recruitment from the French Leagues.

It leaves Aston Villa short at left back, with only Kieran Richardson available to cover the left hand side.

Everyone at ReadAstonVilla wishes Jordan Amavi the best in his recovery, we’re sure he’ll come back better than ever.
