Aston Villa dropped two points as they dominated against a West Ham side that were out of sorts at Villa Park on Boxing Day.
The Villans dominated early on but didn’t make chances count as Aaron Cresswell slid in a rifling shot to give The Hammers a 1-0 lead going into the second half.
But Villa still dominated going into the second half. Eventually, it showed with Ogbonna hauling down Gestede. Ayew converted the following penalty calmy, but it wasn’t enough as Villa failed to push on.
It leaves them nine points off safety.
