Aston Villa chairman Steve Hollis has reassured Villa supporters than owner Randy Lerner will not sell the club until their current situation regarding affairs on the pitch are resolved. The Daily Star reports.
Villa currently sit rock bottom in the Premier League and a long way away from safety and with just under half of the season gone, they will need to mount a humongous survival bid to remain in the top flight.
Regarding the situation of the club’s ownership, Hollis has stated that there would be no selling of Villa until the club is back on track; whether it be in the Premier League or the Championship next season.

I’ve got to say, Randy is pretty passionate about this place. He wants it to go to whoever takes it on in the right state and he was pretty blunt in his press statement that it’s not in the right state at the moment. He did say last May that if he can’t sell it he would put a structure in it to make it the right state.
American billionaire Lerner put the club up for sale in 2014 but is astonishingly still searching for a potential suitor to take over the club.
However, what may come as a surprise to the Villa faithful is that Lerner has no current ambitions to sell up, but to drive them forward to becoming one of the country’s best run football clubs.
He wants to actually make this club one of the best run in the Premier League.
Lerner has owned Villa since 2006 and will be hoping to turn the ship around at Villa Park.
