Villa decide on cut off point for new manager appointment

With questions over who’ll actually be the owner of Aston Villa next season, it’s understandable to see why the club have not yet made a decision on who’ll be managing them in the Championship next season.

Randy Lerner has openly admitted that he is looking to sell Villa but negotiations seem to be taking a long time which means the club haven’t been able to appoint a new boss.

However, according to a report from Gregg Evans of the Birmingham Mail, the club want a new boss in place by the end of May.

Chairman Steve Hollis and advisor Brian Little are said to want the replacement in by the end of the month, presumably to allow him time to assess the squad and work on transfers.

Nigel Pearson remains the favourite to take over at Villa Park but names such as David Moyes, Roy Keane, Brendan Rodgers have been linked with the role too.
