Aston Villa and Newcastle United are both interested in signing Jose Manuel García Naranjo, commonly known as Naranjo, from Gimnastic de Tarragona, according to a report from Jose Manuel Aleman of Spanish publication Cadena Ser.
The 21-year-old scored 15 times in the Segunda Division last season and looks to have caught they eye of scouts from the two relegated sides.
The Spanish forward apparently has a £2.3million buyout clause in his contract and it looks like Newcastle are about to activate it, so Villa will need to do the same if they want the opportunity to sign him ahead of the North East side.

Both sides will be looking for an immediate return to the top-flight and therefore they’ll be looking to add more goals to their respective squads, especially Villa, who only scored 27 goals in 38 league games.
Newcastle are said to be leading the race to sign Naranjo but with no deal yet done, Villa have the chance to jump in if they so wish.
