According to a report from the Birmingham Mail, Burnley are weighing up a move for Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede.
The Clarets are interested in bolstering their attacking options ahead of the upcoming season, despite Sam Vokes and Andre Gray both having excellent campaigns up front last season.
Gestede would offer a different dimension to Burnley’s style of play due to his towering stature and aerial ability.

The forward fell largely out of favour at Villa last season, therefore a move for the Benin international could be on the cards and with the lure of Premier League football once again there for Gestede at Burnley, he could be tempted away.
However, new Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo could be keen to keep hold of Gestede and other key players as he prepares for life in the Championship.
Gestede’s proven quality and experience in the Championship could prove to be a decisive factor in the club’s decision whether to keep him or sell him, given his impressive goalscoring record at Blackburn prior to his move to Villa Park.
