Aston Villa are considering making a move for Preston North End defender Greg Cunningham, according to HITC, who say that they have their information from a source close to the club.
Cunningham played in 43 of Preston’s 46 Championship games during the last campaign. It was his first season in the North West following his move from Bristol City and on a personal level, it went really well as he picked up the Players’ Player of the Season and Fans’ Player of the Season awards.

The 25-year-old Irish international only signed a two-year deal when he arrived from City, so Villa might fancy their chances of getting him on the cheap as he enters his final season under contract with Preston.
However, after such an impressive first year at Deepdale, The Lilywhites will be keen to tie him down to an extended deal as they look to build on an impressive first season back in the second tier.
