Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor has turned down the chance to join Reading on loan, as per Pat Murphy of the BBC.
Twitter: Hearing that Gabby Agbonlahor turned down a move to @ReadingFC so where does he go from here? (@patmurphybbc)
The 29-year-old, who resigned as club captain last year after he was allegedly pictured with laughing gas canisters, is clearly not in Roberto Di Matteo’s plans but has decided against joining Jaap Stam at Reading.
As the Birmingham Mail’s Mat Kendrick reported earlier today, both Di Matteo and Tony Xia have told Agbonlahor that he should go out on loan but, up until this point, it looks like he is going nowhere.

There is even talk that Villa are willing to subsidise his wages if he does go out on loan so it’s not like going out is going to cost him any money, but he clearly doesn’t fancy joining Reading.
Whether he stays at the club by tonight’s deadline remains to be seen, but it’s looking unlikely at this stage.
