Kodjia delighted to be at Aston Villa

Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia has spoken about how well he’s settled in at the club and how much he’s enjoying life in the claret and blue.

I am loving life at Aston Villa. The fans have been brilliant with me. My team-mates have been fantastic. I have such good sensations here. It’s a great place to be – on and off the pitch.

In a recent interview with the club’s official website, Kodjia praised everyone associated with Villa, lauding the fans’ support as of late and heaping the praise on his teammates.

I certainly feel the support of the fans. They have really backed me. The players are happy because we’re on a good run – and I am very pleased to see that the supporters are happy for the same reason. It’s great to see the smiles on their faces. That’s what I want to see.

Personally I need the fans. I feel in good form – and I thank them for their role in this. If you feel comfortable and happy, your football is good. That’s the case with me.

Since his move from Bristol City in the summer, Kodjia has led the line brilliantly and has cemented his place under Steve Bruce as the first choice forward at the club.

They inspire me. They make me play better when I hear them sing and chant for me and the team. I am happy with my form. My sensations on the pitch are good. I have scored six goals so far and I am happy with that. I want to keep scoring.

With six goals to his name so far this season already in the Championship, the Ivory Coast international is clearly happy at the club and will be hoping to play a big role in their revitalisation, with a return to the Premier League in mind.

I am smiling all the time. You saw that in the Mannequin Challenge on the team coach. I am a happy guy – that’s my natural state. I like to celebrate and sing in the dressing room when we have won.

Kodjia will be looking to extend his goal tally for the season to seven on Saturday when his Villa side welcome Cardiff.
