Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia has taken to twitter to urge his teammates to put in a performance this evening that would have made former manager Graham Taylor proud.
The Ivorian Coast international will not be involved in the match against Wolves as he is competing in the AFCON, but he has wished his side luck for their derby match which is taking place at the Molineux Stadium later on today.
Twitter: Win, lose or draw today’s all about putting a team performance that’d have Mr Graham Taylor proud 2 b a villan. C’mon boys.In it with u#AVFC (@J_Kodjia)
Both sides will take part in a minute’s applause to honour the memory of Taylor, who took charge of both teams during his time as a football manager.
This should be a closely matched game between the two sides. Across all competitions, Villa are without a win in their last 3 matches, and they will be desperate to get a win in the bag tonight so that they can attempt to decrease the 7 point gap that currently stands between them and a coveted play-off position.
