Steve Bruce had ordered Ross McCormack to train with the U23 squad after loing his patience with the striker, as per a report by James Ducker of The Telegraph.
The 30-year-old was dropped from squad for the 2-2 draw against Preston North End at the weekend after missing training after he told Bruce that the electric gates on his house malfunctioned.
Bruce was apparently furious and has decided that he will offload the Scottish international as soon as possible.

Villa paid £12m to sign McCormack and gave him a reported £45,000-a-week so finding a club for him will not be easy as it’s unlikely that anyone else will be willing to pay him such a huge salary, especially now there are question marks over his attitude and commitment.
Bruce gave his first team players a day off on Monday after the weekend’s game but he told McCormack that he had to report for duty and made him train with the youngsters.
