Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce says it will be very difficult for the club to reach the play-offs this season after their 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Villa lost despite going in front against Forest but Bruce said, as reported by the Daily Star, he’s not giving up hope just yet.
Well it’s going to be very very difficult, but never can you say you’re going to give up. We’ve got 17 games to go.
It’s going to take an almighty effort to get there. But we just have to stay with it. Stay strong. It’s not going for us at the minute but we must keep at it.
Jonathan Kodjia’s well-taken first-half goal put the visitors in front after linking up well with new signing Scott Hogan throughout the first half.

Britt Assombalonga drew Forest level after Sam Johnstone fumbled the ball and allowed the striker to pounce on a chance he was never going to miss.
Villa were playing the remaining 10 minutes a man down after Jack Grealish was sent off for two yellow cards.
After being booked in the first half, Grealish tripped a player late on and was shown the red, despite it appearing to be harsh on the Villa midfielder.
Forest youngster Ben Brereton came off the bench to score a well-taken volley that handed the hosts all three points.
