According to the Birmingham Mail, Steve Bruce has admitted that he needs Micah Richards to return to the side. The defender has been sidelined for most of the season, making just three appearances across all competitions, but he is now closing in on a return.
Bruce has declared that he cannot wait to have the Manchester City man back at his disposal, and that he has the mentality to help Villa out of the slump that they find themselves in – they have now lost 7 of their last 8 games.
Bruce admitted that:
“I could do with him on the pitch. Micah Richards is a stick-on if he’s fit. He has the right mentality.Unfortunately fitness levels have been a big problem for him over the last couple of years. He has been back in training for a week after an ongoing problem with his knee. Certainly I could do with him. His experience could prove vital.”
