Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout, who is currently on loan with Saint-Etienne, is a potential summer transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports in France.
The 23-year-old was one of the many player who Villa let leave on loan following relegation and he’s found his feet back in his homeland.
However, there is no definite sign that he’ll be staying with Saint-Etienne after the season is over and it looks like Spurs could make a move for him.
Mauricio Pochettino apparently wanted to sign Veretout in 2015 when he left Nantes but the player ended up joining Villa instead.
The Spurs boss seemingly remembers this and apparently had scouts in attendance to watch him play against Manchester United in the Europa League.
Quite why Spurs would want him is another matter, but he would offer them some squad depth, although his chances of getting regular game time at Tottenham would be slim at the very best.
