Aston Villa are hoping to make Sam Johnstone’s loan move to Villa Park a permanent switch and are willing to pay £3million to keep him, as per a report from John Percy and James Ducker of The Telegraph.
Steve Bruce, who obviously has connections at Manchester United, has reportedly begun speaking to the powers-that-be at Old Trafford as he looks to negotiate a deal to keep the 24-year-old goalkeeper at Villa.
After overcoming a difficult start, Johnstone has impressed during his loan spell with the Villans and Bruce is hoping to get a deal negotiated and agreed before the summer.

Johnstone’s performances have apparently caught they eye of a few Premier League clubs, such as Bournemouth, Everton and Sunderland, so Villa will be hoping to get a deal agreed in the near future so that one of the top-flight clubs don’t swoop in and take him.
The goalkeeper signed a new contract with United in October but with David De Gea and Sergio Romero ahead of him in the pecking order, a move looks to be the best way for him to start establishing himself as a first-choice player.
