Aston Villa join the race to sign Joe Ledley

Steve Bruce is rumoured to be interested in bringing Joe Ledley to Villa Park, according to a report in The Daily Star.

Ledley, 30, was released by Crystal Palace at the end of the previous and Aston Villa are believed to be amongst a trio of clubs in England chasing the Welsh international’s signature.

Premier League side West Brom and one of Villa’s promotion rivals Derby County are also keeping an eye on his situation with clubs in China, Germany and Turkey all reported to be doing the same.

Ledley is currently away on holiday with his family and has suggested he wont be rushing into a decision for next season.

There’s been Championship and Premier League clubs in touch, but I want to have a good summer with the family and go from there.

Bruce’s reported transfer budget this summer is limited due to FFP restrictions so getting in Ledley on a free could be a smart piece of business.
