Sunderland are interested in Ross McCormack
Sunderland are interested in signing Aston Villa forward Ross McCormack, according to a report from Simon Jones of The Mail.
McCormack spent the second part of last season on loan with Nottingham Forest after falling out with Steve Bruce, however, the manager has apparently decided to wipe the slate clean and give the Scottish international another chance to earn his trust.
Sunderland have lost Jermain Defoe and Fabio Borini to Bournemouth and AC Milan respectfully and despite the signing of James Vaughan, they’re still looking for another forward player.
Villa paid £12m for McCormack last summer and would ideally like to get most of that figure back if they sold him, however, it’s unlikely that Sunderland would be willing to pay such a figure for him after his disappointing season.
Simon Grayson would be keen to bring McCormack in but time will tell if he can get the Scottish star to the Stadium of Light.
