There’s been a change in Villa’s pre-season schedule

A report in the Birmingham Mailhas informed us that Aston Villa’s pre-season game against Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, which was due to be played on July 25th, has been cancelled.

The cancellation was announced by Arnhem’s official website, stating that the game could not be played on German soil. It is thought that the German FA pulled the plug on the game because it is a match that does not involve a German side.

This information was first reported by away travel guru Steve Gough, who is a well-known Villa fanatic.

As a result of this cancellation, Villa will now be play against Bielefeld at the Heidewaldstadion in Gutersloh on that day.

Aston Villa’s players are flying out to Germany ahead of a pre-match tour where they will take part in the Cup of Traditions that is due to start on the 23rd.  Villa will play two matches lasting 45 minutes each, and the other participants include Hertha Berlin, Malaga, and MSV Duisburg.
