Villa striker will miss the first six games of the season

According to a recent report in the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia is likely to miss the first 6 games of the season as he continues his comeback from a broken ankle.

The 27-year-old suffered the injury in the penultimate game of last season, and he has slowly been making his way back to full fitness.

He hasn’t played in any of Villa’s pre-season matches, and Bruce reckons he will be out for at least another month, if not a bit longer.

If this is the case, it means he will miss the Championship games against Hull City, Cardiff, Reading, Norwich, Bristol City, and the Carabao cup match against Colchester United.

Therefore, a possible return date for the Ivory Coast international could be the home match against Brentford on September 9th.

Villa will also be without Jedinak for the first two weeks of the season, as he makes his way back from a groin operation. Furthermore, Grealish will miss the first 2-3 months after he suffered a kidney injury against Watford at the weekend.
