Sam Johnstone hoping Leeds will fear Aston Villa
Aston Villa shot-stopper Sam Johnstone reveals that he is hoping that promotion rivals Leeds United will fear Aston Villa as they face each other tonight at Elland Road, according to a report on the Express and Star.
The goalkeeper believes that Villa’s recent form should be feared by their rivals ahead of the clash.
Villa have won their last three games and have only lost twice since the end of August in a very consistent period of form from Steve Bruce’s men, which sees them sit fourth in the Championship table.
Johnstone said:
Friday is a massive game. Coming off the back of three straight wins, hopefully they (Leeds) are more scared of us. It’s all about confidence.
If you are full of confidence it is a different game. We will be up for it, hopefully we can get three points.
Last season when the sides met at Elland Road, Leeds went on to defeat Villa 2-0 and Bruce will be confident that a similar result will not happen again this season as his side have improved massively.
Villa have already won four times away from home this season, which took them the whole season to achieve in the last campaign.
