Aston Villa will rival Brighton for the signature of Plymouth Argyle youngster Michael Cooper.
According to reports from Birmingham Live, the Argyle youngster is a wanted man this summer after impressing in Devon.
Cooper made his first-team debut last season, coming off the bench to replace Kyle Letheren against Blackburn.
While it is yet to be seen if Villa would be looking to recruit Cooper directly for the first-team squad or view him as one of the future, Steve Bruce’s men are in the market for a new goalkeeper.
Sam Johnstone, who spent last season on loan at Villa Park, has returned to Manchester United.

Johnstone is being linked with a permanent move away from United this summer, but Villa could yet be priced out of a move for the player who was a hit with the fans during his time at the club.
Villa are looking to snap up potential bargains this summer with off-the-field financial worries still surrounding the club.
