McGinn has completed his move to Villa, after impressing for Hibernian in Scotland last season.
Celtic were also thought to have had an offer accepted for the midfielder, but McGinn has opted to complete a move to the Championship.
The 23-year-old scored six goals from midfield last season for Hibs and joined the side in 2015.
Villa are also expected to confirm the arrival of Joe Bryan from Bristol City for a fee in the region of £5m.
