Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is hoping that the club’s new owners will look into releasing both Micah Richards and Ross McCormack from their deals at the club.
The Mirror, as cited on the Birmingham Mail, reports that the Villa boss will put the questions to those behind the scenes at Villa Park, with both players taking up valuable funds from the club’s wage bill.
Both players are on bumper contracts with the club but do not feature in Villa’s plans going forward.
Neither McCormack or Richards were named in this season’s squad list, but remain employed by the club.

Richards is under contract until the end of the season but has been unable to shake off injury problems to feature for the club in the second tier.
The club have also been unable to offload McCormack, who fell out with Bruce and has since fallen out of the picture.
He spent time in Australia on loan last season, but potential suitors have been few and far between for the player this summer.
