Aston Villa transfer target Gary Cahill has admitted that he could leave Premier League side Chelsea in the January transfer window as he seeks more playing time, according to a report on the Mirror.
The English centre-back has fallen heavily out of favour at Stamford Bridge and wants to be playing regular football as soon as possible.

Villa were keeping a close eye on his situation over the summer and were interested in bringing him to Villa Park.
However, a move for him never materialised but after his recent comments, Villa boss Steve Bruce should be on alert for a loan deal in a couple of months.
When asked if he thinks he will leave Chelsea in January, Cahill said:
I don’t want to jump the gun but as things stand at this time, probably, yes.
Whatever my future holds, in terms of the club, and the relationship I have with the club and the fans, it will have been a huge part of my footballing life. I’ve got maximum respect for everybody here. I realise that sometimes you have to make tough decisions and football doesn’t wait for people.
Sometimes you have to make those decisions to keep going and progressing. I’m definitely finding it difficult this year.
I haven’t spoken to the manager yet. I think we will speak soon, just to see where everything is and how the land lies. The most important thing here is the team, but I’ve got to look at my situation and my future as well.
Villa are looking for promotion to the Premier League this season and know that with Cahill’s experience, they will have a very good chance of achieving that target.
