Aston Villa eye January loan move for Ethan Ampadu
Both Aston Villa and Derby County are considering a January loan move for Chelsea star Ethan Ampadu, according to a report from Gregg Evans of BirminghamLive.
Both clubs tried to sign the young Welshman on loan in the summer but Chelsea refused to let him leave, but they may be willing to let him go out on loan for the second half of the season.
Ampadu is comfortable playing as a centre-back or as a defensive midfielder and it looks like Villa want to bring him to the club.
Villa coach John Terry will know all about the 18-year-old’s talent, as will those who’ve watched him develop at Stamford Bridge. Of course, the same could also be said of Derby boss Frank Lampard.
Villa already have Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea whilst Derby have Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori, so both clubs understand the value of doing business with Chelsea in the loan market.
