McInnes talks up move away for Villa target Scott McKenna
Aston Villa will be hopeful about revising their interest in Celtic and Wolves target Scott McKenna following Derek McInnes’ latest comments.
Speaking about the player’s future, as cited on Birmingham Live, McInnes revealed that a host of clubs have been watching the defender and he is realistic about the club’s chances of keeping hold of him.
I’m hoping we can keep Scott for as long as possible but I am realistic enough to know that somebody of Scott’s ability is always going to be on the radar.
Just about every club in the English Championship and the Premier League have been regular visitors to our games over the last while.
Aberdeen turned down bids from both Celtic and Aston Villa over the summer, with many believing that the Scottish international is capable of playing in the Premier League.
Ex-Villa manager Steve Bruce was very keen to bring the player to the club over the summer and it is yet to be seen if Dean Smith will follow up that interest.
Interest in his services has not slowed down since the end of the summer window.
With Premier League side Wolves interested, Villa will be hoping the lure of regular first-team football will see them win the race to sign McKenna.
