Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton could be leaving Burnley in the January transfer window, according to boss Sean Dyche.
Heaton has been revealed as a target for Aston Villa this January, and Dyche has revealed there’s a chance that the former England international could leave Turf Moor next month.
Since dislocating a shoulder in 2017, Heaton has only made three appearances for the Clarets and has recently lost his spot in the first team to Tom Pope and Joe Hart.
Dyche revealed the news ahead of Burnley’s clash with Brighton this weekend, with the Clarets struggling for results this season.
The Burnley boss said, via the Lancashire Telegraph:
There’s a possible chance. Tom’s absolutely in the open with my views as I am with his.
A fantastic pro, international goalkeeper, real competitive edge to what’s going on at the moment.
Joe’s done well on the whole. We have conceded a lot of goals but that’s not just down to a keeper by the way.
Tom’s right in the thick of it and pushing constantly because of the top class pro that he is.
However, Dyche also revealed that the Clarets are yet to receive any concrete offers for the goalie so far.
Nothing that means anything. Lots of tittle tattle that you tend to get as a manager but nothing that means anything.
Villa are in the hunt for a goalkeeper, with their current options not really performing despite the arrival of new boss Dean Smith.
