Tammy Abraham catching the eye of Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Aston Villa’s on-loan striker Tammy Abraham.
The 21-year-old is currently at Villa on a temporary basis from Chelsea and is thriving in the Championship.
Abraham has 12 goals in just 16 league appearances this season, as he spearheads Dean Smith’s side’s promotion push.
The Telegraph believe Palace are “watching” Abraham, adding that Chelsea “could recall him and send him elsewhere if Villa fall away in the Championship promotion race.”
The Eagles picked up a hugely important 1-0 win over Leicester on Saturday afternoon, easing their relegation fears significantly.
There is still an evident lack of goals in the team, however, with so much of Palace’s attacking threat dependent on Wilfried Zaha.
Roy Hodgson’s men have netted just 14 times in 17 Premier League matches this season.
There are some doubts over whether Abraham can be a reliable top flight goalscorer, having yet to consistently prove himself at that level.
He is still a young player, however, and he would represent an exciting signing if Palace’s interest becomes even more concrete.
