Patrick Bamford wary of Aston Villa ahead of Leeds clash
Leeds striker Patrick Bamford is looking forward to his side’s clash with Aston Villa this weekend, describing it as a “big test”.
Villa host the current Championship leaders in a huge game on Sunday afternoon, as Dean Smith’s side look to edge towards the play-off places.
It is set to be a stern examination of both teams’ credentials, with Villa unbeaten in seven games, scoring 21 goals in that time.
Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Bamford, whose goal sent Leeds top at Bolton last Saturday, admits he is wary of the threat Villa pose:
It’s going to be a big test.
They’ve scored a lot of goals in the last few games and they’re not having a problem there but it’s going to be interesting.
We’ll be up for it.
Smith’s men are one of the Championship’s form teams and their chances of being in at least the play-offs this season are looking stronger all the time.
Victory over a strong Leeds side would be another major step in the right direction, but they will have to perform excellently to achieve that.
