According to Football Insider, Aston Villa are lining up a move for Macauley Southam-Hales from Barry Town United.
The 22-year-old right-back, who used to play as a midfielder, has played a big part in helping the Welsh Premier League club reach the top the top of the table, and his fine form is attracting interest from a number of teams in League One and the Championship.
These interested teams are rumoured to be Barnsley, Ipswich, and Bolton, so if the rumours are true and Villa are indeed looking to acquire this youngster’s services this month, then they should, with no disrespect meant to the aforementioned clubs, be more of an appealing option to him.
Villa are eager to improve their full-back options during this transfer window as Alan Hutton and Neil Taylor have both been in dire form, and it is believed that they feel that Southam-Hales is more than capable of playing at Championship level.
