According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, Harold Moukoudi’s agent has stated that it is very likely that the young defender will move to a Ligue 1 club this summer instead of going abroad.
The 21-year-old defender is currently playing for Ligue 2 side Le Havre, but his contract runs out in 6 months and it is highly unlikely that he is going to renew it with a host of bigger clubs all fighting for his services.
Steve Bruce was close to signing Moukoudi in the summer for a fee of £7 million, but he eventually turned the deal down as he decided that it was best for him if he carried on playing in France.
Now his agent, Thierry Granturco, in news that won’t please his suitors, has said that:
He is now playing in the French second tier and his desire is to play in Ligue 1 for one season and then evaluate other options.
Therefore, it looks like Villa won’t be acquiring his services in the summer. However, let’s be honest, with teams like Napoli and Dortmund after him, it was likely never to happen anyway.
