Yannick Bolasie to return to Everton

Yannick Bolasie is set to return to Everton after Dean Smith decided to cancel the winger’s loan deal at the club.

The Telegraph reports that Villa will send the winger back to Everton after he failed to impress during the first half of the season.

Bolasie was considered as a coup for the club when Steve Bruce signed him on loan in the summer, but the former Crystal Palace man has struggled with injuries during his time at the club.

With Villa also paying his £70,000-a-week wages in full, the decision will allow the club to free up some of Smith’s budget as he looks to complete some more January business.

Smith did not intend to sign Bolasie on a permanent basis at the end of the season so has taken the decision to send him back to Everton.

The 29-year-old has started just nine times in the Championship all season, two of which have come in 2019.
